Job Description
Catering Assistant
You will perform the following daily tasks:
Daily duties
- To
assist cooks and chefs in preparing and storing food, washing dishes and
utensils, and cleaning work areas.
- Handle, sort and store food items,
dating items.
- Wash, peel, chop, cut and cook
foodstuffs.
- Prepare salads and desserts
- Clean food preparation equipment, floors and other kitchen tools or areas.
- Take food to tables when bar /
waiting staff are busy, so therefore must dress smartly.
- Restock cleaning materials / toiletries / paper towels / salt as required.
- Wash and clean utensils and dishes
that are returned to the kitchen.
- Sweep and mop tiled areas in the
kitchen.
- Empty waste containers and store
rubbish appropriately.
- Report any damage or any items that appear to have been stolen.
- Report all discrepancies in stocks / deliveries to managers.
- Ensure hot drinks materials are
returned to the bar.
- Ensure cutlery is returned to the
dresser in the dining room.
- Keep the kitchen clean and tidy at
all times.
- Make suggestions to improve the standards of service given to our clientele,
reduce waste and improve general business profitability.
Monthly Duties (as per
cleaning schedule)
- Wash down walls.
- Wash doors.
- Clean inside of windows.
- Polish door handles.
- Tidy stock cupboards and fridges.
