Cask Conditioned Ales

We serve five bitters and a mild as regulars on our hand pumps.

Butty Bach (4.5%) 'little friend’. From Wye Valley Brewery at Stoke Lacey, Herefordshire. A burnished gold premium ale. Full bodied, smooth and satisfying. Brewed with pale and crystal malt with English Goldings and Fuggles hops.
West Midlands Best Bitter of the Year 2008

Three Tuns XXX (4.3%). From John Roberts' Brewing Co. Three Tuns Brewery at Bishops Castle, Shropshire. A renowned beer from a recipe passed down by the Roberts family who owned the brewery for several generations; a pale-straw-coloured, premium bitter with simple, light malty-sweetness, delicately balanced with light bitterness of floral, earthy character.
Shropshire Gold (3.8%). From the Salopian Brewery at Shrewsbury, Shropshire. A light copper coloured ale, the complex malt grist gives an unusual blend of body and dryness. The beer is triple hopped using finest British Goldings and Slovenian Styrian Goldings to give plenty of fruity aromas and flavours.

Hobsons Best Bitter (3.8%). From Hobsons Brewery at Cleobury Mortimer, Shropshire. A pale brown medium bodied beer with a strong taste of hops.
A pale brown to amber, medium bodied beer with strong hop character throughout. It is consequently bitter but with malt discernible in the taste.
Bitter with a touch of malt.

West Midlands Bitter of Year 2001 and 2007

Three Tuns 1642 (3.8%). From John Roberts' Brewing Co. Three Tuns Brewery at Bishops Castle, Shropshire. A golden bitter with light maltiness, comprising nutty and coffee flavours, leading to a refreshing medium/strong, spicy bitterness with a long-lingering finish.

Hobsons Mild (3.2%). From Hobsons Brewery at Cleobury Mortimer, Shropshire. A smooth dark mild. Chocolate malt gives plenty of flavour and aroma which belies its strength.
